runnin' the fun

our third fun run together was just as perfect as the others.  always an adventure of some sort.  we are either really hot or really cold or the car acts up or something.  just the way it is with a car that has been around longer than me....that's a long time, considering i just turned thirty-wonderful (31).  luckily this year we were just really cold, that's all.  i can handle cold although at the time i didn't think i could. 

i always feel really sentimental when we make this trip.  i think seeing all the older couples (primarily what you see) together makes me think about the fact that some day it will be us.  our first year on the fun run, when we were simply dating, i remember this adorable older lady coming up to me and telling me how much she loved seeing a young couple on the fun run because it reminded her of being younger and doing just the same thing with her husband.  it is their tradition and it is ours.  i'll never forget the sweet words of that stranger because they really touched my heart.  i love our tradition of freezing, burning up or having car trouble.
