the 'burbs is a movie my family has quoted a lot over the years. it is one of our old favorites. when za husband and i were dating, i asked him the important questions. you know, like......have you ever heard of the 'burbs? his response...yes, i love that movie. i own it. that's when i knew we were a match made in heaven. not really but he certainly went up a few more points in my book.
tonight we went on a date. during our drive home i noticed the car in front of us was all over the road. i am 99% sure the person was drunk. i watched for a little bit but when the driving got worse i called the police. first time in my life i've ever done that. that is how bad this person was driving. i gave the police all of the proper information then we followed the vehicle at a safe distance. i got increasingly anxious as the vehicle continued to swerve all over the road and the police didn't show. so i turned to will and say "citizen's arrest, citizen's arrest!" those of you who know the 'burbs might appreciate that quote. anyway we did our part but the police never showed. i took a few more notes on the vehicle, location, and time as they pulled into a residential area just in case the highway patrol decided to call me back. if i were a little more brave i would have definitely pulled the citizen's arrest scene from the 'burbs. maybe we didn't save the day but at least we got a good laugh from my quote at the perfect moment.
One of the best movies ever...it still cracks me up! That was pretty much a sure thing that Will belonged in this family. :)
