case of the sillies

ever had a serious case of the sillies last night.

she kept blowing raspberries, making funny faces, and laughing.

her silly actions were rubbing off on will and i, and the three of us were having so much fun.

the video is dark (because it was taken after midnight while we were trying to get her to go to sleep) and shaky (because i was doing this wobbly head maneuver along with blowing on her to get the giggles flowing).

   

will and i always talk about how we think ever's laugh is the best sound in the world.

on october 3rd

we started out our day with a song and dance and major smiley faces so that i could convince her green beans are yummy....my tricks seemed to work.

we then went to her six month check up which she wasn't a big fan of.

don't worry ever.....most girls despise the scale.

she weighed 13 pounds 2 ounces and was 26 1/2 inches long

she held this pose long enough for me to get a ton of pictures of it.

she was just trying to be modest.

i laughed when she did the pose but then later when i looked at the pictures again i laughed even more.

how were we so lucky to get this funny girl?

she charmed everyone at the office with her intense sweet ways. 

pellegrino guarded her when we got home.  

she must have told him how awful the shots were and he was making sure we weren't going to take his favorite little human back to the doctor.

the rest of the evening ever was mesmerized by her battle wounds.  she kept touching the bandaids and trying to rip them off. 

this video is a kind of dark and i'm warning you that i do two annoyingly squeaky loud peek-a-boo's.

basically as i was getting ready i had her in the pack and play with some toys.  while checking on her i notice she is in love with her bunny mirror toy.  she was kissing it and talking to it so sweetly.  i managed to catch her kissing it.  i kept trying to get her attention and get her to laugh but she was just too busy with her little bunny mirror to be bothered with my nonsense.

six months of cuteness

 considering i took about 200 pictures of ever yesterday to celebrate her turning six months it is rather amazing that i narrowed it down to these few to show you...even if there are still kind of a bunch.

at ever's six month pediatrician visit today it was basically confirmed that she is one active and advanced little lady...not that we didn't already know it.  when the doctor went through the list of milestones we answered yes or she started doing that months ago to every question.  ever is so entertaining these days.  she gets in laughing fits that make me laugh so hard and then we both get even more out of control.  she loves when i play peek-a-boo with her.  she "talks" a bunch!  babbling like crazy all of the time and lately she added blowing raspberries to the babbling.  she is a major wiggle worm.  changing her diaper or getting her dressed sometimes seems like a workout.  i have to flip her back over about a thousand times.  she gets in the crawling position but doesn't quite crawl yet although she does an inch worm scooting maneuver like a champ.  her lower left tooth appeared a few days ago and the one next to it is going to appear any moment now.  she can be very challenging at times because she is so determined and ready to tackle this wild world but at the same time she is such an incredible little person that i love more and more each day.  oh and when it comes to posing for pictures....this girl has it down already.  she seems to truly enjoy having her picture taken unless it is a long fiasco like our mini photo shoot was yesterday....then she just gets a little annoyed. 

 

i tried to get a video of her cracking up while i played peek-a-boo with her but it just wasn't working so this is a short but sweet peek at some of her cuteness.

p.s.  the super adorable owl pillow you see in a couple pictures was made by my very talented friend brandi. she recently listed a couple halloween decorations she made on etsy.  i already snagged one of them and i can't wait to see what else she comes up with.  you should totally check her stuff out even if i am reluctant to tell you about it because i want to be greedy and buy every cute thing.

a preview of the 6 month old

here is a little preview of what we did today to celebrate ever turning six months old....

we took a billion pictures....but who am i kidding....we do that pretty much every single day.  

today we just tried to get a little more fancy with our pictures.  

see how thrilled ever is in the last one?  she was tired of my shenanigans.  hopefully i will have time later to upload all of the pictures and share them along with special words about our 6 month old.

october

as i put ever in bed last night after midnight i noticed it was october.  it is a favorite month of mine because october brings cooler weather (hopefully soon), a magical feeling in the air, halloween, pumpkins....the list goes on and on.  i'm especially happy to enjoy this time of year with my sweet ever and i'm excited to start traditions as a family that she will grow to look forward to.  here is a little about our eventful october 1st...

*we made cupcakes

*ever wore the hello kitty halloween onesie that i bought last september before i even knew if i was having a girl.  (i didn't officially know i was having a girl but i had a feeling)  

*we got out a couple of halloween decorations (we are going to wait and let will get the ones out of the garage that might have spiders in them).

*we had a fun trip to the store.

*took a nice evening walk.

*this last one wasn't really worth celebrating but then again kind of was.  will took the riviera to the gym this evening.  about an hour after he left the house i get a call from him that he is stranded because the brakes went out on the car.  luckily when they went out he wasn't in much traffic and was able to eventually stop in a parking lot.  it is a bummer we have something wrong with the car but i am so glad it happened the way it did and we didn't end up with a catastrophe.  thank goodness that didn't happen when i took the car out by myself yesterday because chances are i wouldn't have handled it so well.  also ever had her first ride in the car over the weekend and it makes me sick to think something like that could have happened with her in there.  while it was a pain to take will tools while ever had an extreme meltdown in the car and it was a pain to have to call a tow truck i'm going to go ahead and celebrate the fact that nobody was hurt.

so that was our day...our first day of october! 

nights with ever

nights around here are a mix between hilarious and frustrating.  ever has a very hard time giving up the fight and going to sleep which can make things frustrating.  but at the same time she can also be extra funny and full of giggles which makes for the hilarious portion.  last night she thought everything i was doing was something to laugh about which had will and i cracking up and forgetting we were exhausted at 1am.  three nights ago she was doing her usual wild refusal to sleep as i was talking to will about some stuff that has been weighing heavily on my mind.  as i was letting out my sadness and worries in the form of tears ever looks at me with the most peaceful expression as if she was telling me it would all be okay.  our eyes locked for what seemed like minutes and the love radiating between the two of us was almost palpable.  i squeezed her and kept repeating how much i love her and how smart she is.  we had a moment.  now when we have the nights where she isn't being so funny and giggling like crazy but rather crying and fighting me i reflect back to our moment and i can't help but ride out her wild time with a smile.  ever truly is such an amazing little person and i love that i am her mom.  we understand each other.

a different costume and fascinating legs

some people may find this video a little boring since it is a minute worth of ever being amazed by her legs and kicking them.  i especially love around the 40 second mark when she looks up at me and gives the greatest smile.  she is very generous with those smiles lately and i love it.  since i think every single thing ever does is captivating....i love this video.  

we took this last thursday when i was trying halloween related items on her and brainstorming her costume since the bat one most definitely is a no go....too small.  i still plan on putting her in the bat costume and having a photo shoot in the coming days as we finish decorating for halloween.  it'll be fun for that but now i'm even more excited about her new costume.  i'm so tempted to post a picture but i don't want to spoil the fun so you'll see later.
